Let’s get right into it shall we? So you’ve heard it over and over again. Quick fad diets for weight loss don’t work. I know it’s hard to pass up the promise of crash diets like the Lemonade Diet, Cabbage Soup Diet, or Lose 21 Pounds in 21 Days when your mission is to squeeze into a new outfit in time for a reunion or wedding, or you finally decide you just want to lose weight.
What else definitely doesn’t work is stomach staples or surgeries. Ok, Yes You will lose a lot of weight but if you don’t have the education of how to eat, you will gain it back time and time again. It’s just a band aid for a bigger problem. You need to learn how to eat properly and the weight will take care of itself.
So losing weight is difficult. It’s definitely not easy. We all know that. If those fad diets and surgeries actually worked, we would be a nation of thin people. But we’re not. All of us need to understand that we’re not living back in the caveman days where food was very hard to come by. Most of us are unaware that we’re still in that mind set today. We sit down at the table and stuff ourselves with the most fatty sugary foods possible. Those types of foods taste great because they contain lots of energy. Our bodies love fat and sugar. It gives us energy. The type of energy we needed back in those caveman days. We’re not living in those days anymore. Most of us have desk jobs, drive cars, and sit around surfing the net or watching TV. We have to face the facts that we all live a very sedentary life now. We need to cut out a lot of those fatty sugary processed foods and replace them with more plant based foods and lean meats.
Think about it. Look at how much food there is in 500 calories in plant based foods and lean meats compared to fatty sugary processed foods. You’ll be very surprised. You get so much more food per calorie in plant based foods and lean meats. That means you take in less calories and your stomach will get full sooner. It’s not rocket science. It’s very simple.
